Montenegro Film Forum held at the Ministry of Culture

The fourth Montenegro Film Forum was held today at the Ministry of Culture in Cetinje, organized by the production company “Artikulacija” from Podgorica.

Welcoming the guests, Ilija Subotic, Audiovisual Activities Advisor of the Ministry of Culture expressed his satisfaction over the fact that it is already the fourth year that the Forum offers the opportunity to discuss, with renounced interlocutors, the important themes and the situation in the domestic cinema sector, as well as the modern trends of regional and international film industry. Subotic said that the ending year was one of the most important for the Montenegrin cinematography in the past two decades, since it saw the revision of normative framework in the field of cinema, and Montenegro became a new member country of the MEDIA subprogramme of Creative Europe.

Ivan Djurovic, Director of the Montenegro Film Forum, said that the thematic framework of this year's edition is fully compliant with the plans of the domestic cinematographic sector, in the context of the founding of the Film Center of Montenegro, provision of stable funding and the introduction of incentives for foreign producers.

Regional and international experiences in the field of organizing and financing the film sector and the incentives to attract foreign film and television crews were presented and discussed by Katriel Sori, director of the Israel Film Fund, Boban Jevtic, director, and Anđelija Andric, representative of the Department for International Promotion and Marketing of the Film Center Serbia, Fatos Berisa, director at Film Forum in Pristina, as well as Sandra Djurickovic, representative of the Belgrade production company "Work in Progress". During the Forum, Pristina International Film Festival was presented by its director Vjosa Berisa.

This year's Charters of the Montenegro Film Forum for outstanding contribution to the development of Montenegrin cinematography were awarded to Olivera Brajovic from the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, and Milijana Celebic, set-dresser with decades of engagement in the Montenegrin cinema sector.

The Montenegro Film Forum was co-financed through the public call of the Ministry of Culture in 2015.
